Kalidou Koulibaly praised his team’s reaction to falling behind against PSG on Tuesday evening, as they managed to secure a draw at the San Paolo.

"It’s a shame about the goal we conceded, but we did well to draw level and dominate the game,” he said.

"It’s always hard to play against great players of this level, but we’ve shown we can match them, both in Paris and tonight.

"We started the game well. We were in control of the match, but unfortunately we fell behind in stoppage time in the first half, which surprised us.

"We didn’t let it affect us however and we managed to get the game back in our hands. We deserved the draw. We were brave and we weren’t at all scared of our opponents.

"It was a good show of character on our part."

When asked about his personal battle with Brazilian forward Neymar, the defender added: "I’d like to thank everyone for the praise – I love individual duels, even though the boss doesn’t want those, because we need to defend as a team, and rightly so.

"I need to be more clinical and less impulsive, but I must say I feel good and I’m happy with my performance."

And finally, on his coach Carlo Ancelotti, Koulibaly said: "He’s a coach that impresses me day in day out.

"From the first few days with us when he went to speak to all the young players of the Primavera squad, before beginning the training session, I’ve been full of admiration for him.

"I also talk about him to my wife – when I’m older I want to have the wisdom he has. He’s a winning coach and a great man above all else."
