Insigne: "Massive performance to win in Bergamo"

Lorenzo Insigne hailed a resilient Napoli showing after the Azzurri triumphed against Atalanta at what is traditionally a very tough ground.

“This was a massive performance today," the 27-year-old began. "It's not easy for anyone to come and win in Bergamo.

"It was a really tough game against a dangerous side - especially at home - so these are three massive points.

"We're all happy [Arek] Milik scored. He did brilliantly after coming on and he's back among the goals. But the team as a whole played really well – it was a deserved win.”

The Italy forward was asked about Napoli's new-found versatility.

"[Carlo] Ancelotti is stamping his ideas on the team. The last three years we mostly played a possession game. Now we sometimes change formation and our movement during the match. The boss tries to make it hard for the opposition to keep tabs on us and we get the ball forward more quickly.”

A vital Champions League match looms on the horizon but Insigne warns Napoli can't afford any distractions against Frosinone at the weekend.

"We need to focus on Frosinone now because we've already dropped points at home against Chievo. Afterwards, we obviously have a huge game at Anfield with everything to play for. We'll go there and give everything we've got and try to show what we can do.”
