Lega Serie A have confirmed the officials for the midweek round of fixtures, including Napoli v Udinese

Giampaolo Calvarese has been appointed as the referee for Udinese’s trip to the Stadio San Paolo on Wednesday evening.

He will be joined by assistant referees Giulio Dobosz and Daniele Bindoni, fourth official Antonio Giua and additional assistants Paolo Tagliavento and Afonso Marrazzo.

Calvarese, 42, has nearly ten years of experience refereeing in the highest two divisions. His Serie A debut came on 24 May 2009 during Cagliari 2-1 Inter. Since then, he has taken charge of 101 fixtures in the top flight.

The Teramo-based official has overseen seven games involving Napoli: five wins and two draws. Some of the highlights include a 2-1 victory away to Fiorentina in October 2013, a 2-1 win at home to Genoa in April 2014 and a 5-0 thrashing of Cagliari in Sardinia on 11 December 2016.

Of his 180 matches in Serie A and B, 101 were home wins, 40 were draws and 38 were victories for the away team. Calvarese awards penalties at a rate of less than one every three matches and produces a red card at roughly the same rate. On average, he stops play for infractions nearly 31 times a game, less than five of which lead to a yellow card.
